I'm not even a big person (I'm 5'7) , and even I can appreciate the extra space. It makes such a difference when I'm not spending 1/2 the time trying to make sure I stay within my mat space. I'm so glad I found this product, it's freakin great!

I bought this mat because of the extra width. I use it in my garage gym to do pushups and other floor exercises. This a great mat for the price.

1/4 inch thickness is right for practice on a hard surface. This mat is actually larger than anyone other than an NBA player would need. I'm 5'10" and got it because I tend to extend past the ends of a standard mat in some supine poses. I didn't want to bring a mat so large to a group practice, so I cut mine down to 30" by 80" and that works fine for me. The rubber is easy to cut with either a blade or scissors, so this is a great mat to customize so that it fits you.
The surface is a little slippery when my hands get damp, but that could be due to residual soap from when I washed it. I imagine that will improve as I use it more.

I use these yoga mats every morning to do my back-support exercises. They are comfortable, store easily when rolled up, and are large enough to accommodate my frame (I'm 6' tall & weigh 210 pounds). I recommend them without reservation.

This item is not as described. It's actually not even close. The mat is 72" x 24" though it's specified to be 84" x 36". The quality also appears to be questionable, though I have not used the product so I cannot comment on its durability.
